PROJECT: Royal Caribbean "Nordic Empress" Children’s Crawl Tube Space Station. INSTALLATION LOCATION: Lisbon, Portugal SIZE: 25' - 6" x 48' - 4" TYPE OF STRUCTURE: Hand polished aluminum tubes house lexan portholes, ceiling ventilation grilles and carpeted floors. UNIQUE FEATURES: Children delight in their simulated journey through space while venturing through the Jancik Arts International crawl tubes, a suspended hand polished aluminum space station aboard the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line "Nordic Empress." The crawl tube environment is further enhanced with strobe lighting, sound effects, and an 8' x 8' video game screen. FABRICATION SPECIFICS: Brushed aluminum 3' diameter tubes (spokes) and 5' diameter tube (outer ring). Mechanically attached brushed aluminum wall panels (central control station/concession stand). |
